We are looking for a Kitchen Porter to join our busy University department, catering for university clientele and conference delegates. To work alongside existing kitchen staff to carry out daily kitchen activities, including aiding with deliveries and goods received to distributing to various outlets. Assisting to maintain our 5-star food hygiene rating and general cleaning duties within a busy kitchen. This is a temporary role, anticipated to last for 2 months.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver requisitioned goods to all catering outlets and any other university department
- Monitor and remove recycling refuse
- Replenish all cleaning materials and disposable protective clothing as required
- Report any maintenance issues with the catering office to ensure that repairs are carried out as needed
- Assist with deliveries around campus on foot
- Assist with the maintenance and cleaning of catering vehicles when required
- Help with basic food preparation when requested
- Ensure all paperwork is completed as and when required
Skills and Experience
- Previous hospitality experience desirable but not required.
Working Hours
- Shifts available Monday - Friday between 6am - 2pm, and 10am - 6pm
- Occasional weekend work
