Working pattern: 3 days on site / hybrid working
Holidays: 22 days + Bank Holidays + 8 additional closure days (38 Days)
We are looking for a Credit Controller to join our friendly finance team at Harper Adams University. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers, building relationships, and helping keep finances on track. You will play a key role in making sure invoices are raised correctly, payments are collected on time, and customers are supported when needed. Whether you have worked in a credit control or sales ledger role before, or you have transferable finance experience, we would love to hear from you.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Raising invoices accurately and on time
- Chasing outstanding payments by phone and email
- Keeping track of incoming payments and recording them correctly
- Working with colleagues across the university to resolve payment issues
- Setting up payment plans where needed
- Helping reduce overdue debt and keeping accounts up to date
- Supporting with basic reports and month-end tasks
Skills and experience:
- Some experience in credit control, sales ledger, or a similar finance role
- Good attention to detail and confidence working with numbers
- Comfortable using Excel and systems (training can be provided)
- Strong communication skills especially when handling tricky conversations
- Someone organised who can manage their own workload
