Senior Manager - Syndicated Loan Operations shall operate within UnitedLex's LexLoan client office in London. They will be responsible for servicing all lifecycle events throughout the Syndicated Loans process and contribute expert level knowledge to projects and process enhancements. This position will primarily be Work from Office (WFO) at the client site in central London. Work hours are generally 8am to 5pm with weekends off and will follow the client's UK holiday calendar. Applicants from the area commutable to central London are welcome.
Responsibilities
- Closing of LMA Par, New Issue & Destress loan trades.
- Review underlying credit agreements to determine the correct form of assignment of the debt and ensure that all transfer criteria can be met.
- Settle trades via ClearPar or on paper documents, where required.
- Prepare draft trade confirmations, transfer documents and pricing letters for paper settlements.
- Manage the loan trade lifecycle post-trade execution and coordinate settlements in the Syndicated and Secondary Loan Market.
- Troubleshoot, escalate, and solve problems from trade discrepancies.
- Maintain, track, and prioritize all unsettled loan trades.
- Facilitate amendments, non-pro-rata paydowns, and Credit events.
- Liaise with front office, legal counsel, tax departments and back office to ensure timely settlements.
- Coordinate post-trade settlement issues and cash queries with back office and trading counterparties.
- Collaborate with teammates to streamline processes and create efficiencies.
- Bring experience in trade operations processes and servicing bank loans.
- Ensure timely delivery of internal and external reports.
- Liaise with front office to facilitate pre-trade arrangements when required.
Role Description
- Work with global teams to accomplish client and organizational goals.
- Coordinate trade settlements in the Syndicated and Secondary loan market through relationships with counterparties and the front and back office.
- Maintain and action a large portfolio of trades in multiple deal names and facilities.
- Adopt a proactive approach to settling trades and keeping balance sheet exposure low.
- Analyze complex issues and apply analytical thinking.
- Perform reporting and data mining when required.
- Assist and participate in the process of new client pursuits through in-person and virtual presentations, supporting the sales process to meet prospective client requirements.
Candidate Requirements
- 6+ years of overall Loan Closing experience in the LMA Loan Market.
- Thorough understanding of the Loan Market Association's Standard Terms and Conditions.
- Good understanding of LSTA Standard Terms.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Highly motivated with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
- Strong experience in client counterparty management.
- Exceptional attention to detail and proficient documentation skills.
- High proficiency in ClearPar and LoanIQ.
- High level of computer proficiency and MS Office.
- Graduate of any stream (Commerce/Accounting/Economics may have added advantage).
- Strong team player with understanding of Loan and Credit related products.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Work Conditions
- UK operating hours Monday through Friday; readiness to stretch when required.
