We are expanding our Research & Life Sciences team and are excited to welcome a Market Solutions Specialist - someone who thrives in a client-facing environment and is passionate about using data and insight to improve healthcare outcomes. This is a fantastic opportunity to work at the intersection of healthcare, data, and innovation - designing and delivering tailored solutions that support clinical trials, improve access to medicines, and generate real-world evidence. You will be part of a collaborative, cross-functional team, working remotely with occasional travel for client meetings and team collaboration.
What you’ll do:
- You will play a key role in shaping and delivering Optum’s market solutions for life sciences clients - bringing together data, analytics, and insight to solve complex healthcare challenges.
- You will enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the UK as you take on some tough challenges.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their goals and aligning Optum’s solutions to meet them.
- Lead solution design and support proposal development, project scoping, and RFP responses.
- Collaborate with sales, clinical, technical, and informatics teams to ensure seamless delivery.
- Support strategic initiatives such as new medicine introductions in community pharmacy and weight management services.
- Communicate complex topics clearly and confidently to diverse audiences, including in client presentations and workshops.
- Stay informed on UK healthcare data sources (e.g. SNOMED-CT), regulatory frameworks (e.g. GDPR, NHS IG, HRA), and trends in real-world evidence and clinical trial recruitment.
- Build and maintain solid relationships with external clients and internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to raising Optum’s profile in the life sciences space and promoting our unique value proposition.
Who You’ll Be:
- You will bring a solid foundation in life sciences or healthcare consulting, with a passion for improving patient outcomes through data-driven solutions.
- You will be confident navigating complex environments, managing multiple projects, and engaging with senior stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:
- Experience in life sciences, healthcare consulting, or real-world evidence.
- Proven experience delivering client-facing projects in regulated environments.
- Proven solid understanding of the UK research and life sciences ecosystem (e.g. DHSC, OLS, NHS, NIHR, MHRA).
- Demonstrated familiarity with UK regulatory and ethical frameworks (GDPR, NHS IG, HRA).
- Proven excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven solid project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio); MS Project.
- Ability to be a strategic thinker with a proactive mindset and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated background in NHS, government, pharma, biotech, or CRO environments.
- Experience with funding bodies, innovation hubs, or cross-sector initiatives.
- Proven understanding of clinical IT systems and healthcare data architecture.
