Independent Living Centre Kingston (ILCK) is looking for Bingo Volunteers at The Play! Charitable Gaming Association (PCGA), located at 1600 Bath Road in Kingston. PCGA hosts bingo fundraiser games that help support community organisations’ programmes and services. The funds raised by volunteers help continue our Independent Skills Development programme which empowers people with disabilities to use and increase their self-advocacy abilities.

We are looking for volunteers to represent our organisation; training is provided by us. The shifts are allotted on an annual basis, and two individuals volunteer for each shift.

When: Currently our schedule is set for one to two days a month, Thursday afternoons, between 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm. Scheduling could change as new schedules are assigned. Volunteers are also needed for occasional weekend shifts.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Orientation and Training: Online Training
  • Mandatory shadow shift to be scheduled with successful completion of online training.
  • Challenges of the volunteer position: Standing for long periods of time.
  • Tasks during bingo: Arrive early to assist with set up of activity and welcome participants. Walk around to greet players. Tidy up between games.

Requirements:

  • 19 years of age.
  • Dependable and punctual.
  • Willing to take initiative and detail-oriented.
  • Courteous and personable.
  • Must wear approved uniform during volunteer placement.
