Job Purpose: To ensure the LDTM assets are operated and maintained effectively, and in accordance with agreed quality standards and procedures, so that all health and safety, financial, customer, and performance targets are met.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
- Ensure regulatory compliance and performance standards across LDTM systems, meeting internal KPIs and security requirements.
- Plan and manage operational activities, including risk assessments, contingency planning, and detailed work plans for major and minor events.
- Provide technical and incident support, liaising with internal teams and external bodies (e.g., Environment Agency, landowners) during emergencies and operational events.
- Oversee contractors and third-party activities, ensuring adherence to safety systems, work authorizations, and minimizing risks to assets and land.
- Contribute to asset improvement and capital projects, offering technical input for design, commissioning, and best practice standards, while supporting SOP and QA development.
- Deliver stakeholder engagement and training, acting as a company ambassador, mentoring new starters, and maintaining strong relationships with landowners and customers.
Technical Skills & Experience:
- Demonstrate effective communication skills, a genuine enthusiasm for teamwork, and a high degree of diplomacy are regarded as critical skills in this role.
- Work on their own initiative and have a high level of numerical, verbal and analytical and decision making skills to apply appropriate problem solving and to deliver both planned and reactive solutions in a dynamic and pressurised environment.
- Demonstrate a high level of planning, organising and decision making skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to work effectively as part of a cross-functional team is a major requirement of the role.
- Familiarity with site-based laboratory sampling and analysis techniques and have appropriate IT skills for the role including Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), MAC, MAPINFO, SAP.
