We are looking for a Third Party Claims Handler to take full ownership of a diverse caseload of third-party damage claims reported by our operational teams. This includes managing claims related to damage arising from works carried out on the public highway, as well as consequential damage caused by external third-party activities.
Responsibilities:
- Log and record all claims received into the team working to a defined process.
- Assess validity of claims received, quality of evidence provided and liaise with the relevant business areas and partners within set SLA’s.
- Negotiate with stakeholders where required to achieve a resolution to claims being processed.
- Ensure and maintain a strong working relationship with our internal and external partners to enable a quick resolution to claims.
- Maintain and monitor progress of claims being processed as per the processes in place, ensure regular updates and communications to those who raised initial damage form.
- Identify any claims finalised for payment and move to the payments team to process.
- Identify trends and opportunities for improvement in relation to claims and complaints received to minimise the chance of reoccurrence.
- Support the management team as and where required to resolve issues and drive those improvements.
- Escalate issues to the management team where they are not being resolved in line with the processes.
Qualifications:
- Strong decision-making ability, with excellent listening, questioning, and analytical skills to support thorough investigations.
- Highly organised with strong time-management skills, able to prioritise effectively while maintaining a methodical, detail-focused approach.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel) and confident using standard corporate systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, accurate documentation.
- Collaborative team player who can adapt to changing requirements and contribute to continuous process improvement.
