United Utilities is delivering a stronger, greener healthier North West and we need a Social Media Manager who can bring that story to life. We are looking for a strong social media manager who can proactively communicate with millions of customers across the North West. This role is all about making sure people understand what we’re delivering, why it matters, and the benefits they’re paying for brought to life through clear, engaging, county‑specific content across our social channels. You’ll lead our social media strategy, shape the messages our customers see every day, and ensure we use the right channels in the right way to build trust, clarity and understanding.

What you’ll be doing:
- Leading and mentoring a small social media team, setting clear processes and driving best practice.
- Owning and optimising our social media management platform (Sprinklr), ensuring high‑quality reporting, dashboards, insights and governance.
- Developing and delivering a social media strategy that builds trust, engagement and understanding across the North West.
- Creating county‑specific content that explains what we’re delivering, why it matters, and the benefits for customers.
- Managing paid social campaigns and working closely with marketing to maximise reach and value.
- Monitoring social media trends, risks and sentiment, supporting crisis communications and horizon scanning.
- Working collaboratively across the business to ensure timing, messaging and content align with wider priorities.
- Driving continuous improvement in digital content, production quality and channel performance.
