Help Shape the Future of Wastewater Asset Management

The Role

We're looking for a Risk Analyst to join our Cheshire County System Performance Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a critical role in identifying, assessing and managing risks across a complex wastewater network, ensuring investment is directed where it delivers the greatest value and long-term resilience.

As a Risk Analyst, you will work closely with operational, engineering and asset management teams to ensure risks are evidence-based, consistently assessed and accurately maintained within the Risk Register.

Your analysis and insight will support asset management planning, investment prioritisation and regulatory submissions, helping the business make informed decisions that enhance performance, compliance and resilience.

You will be responsible for maintaining high-quality risk data, challenging assumptions, identifying emerging trends and ensuring robust governance processes are followed across the organisation.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Risk Analyst you'll:

  • Own and maintain the Risk Register for your designated asset base and geographical area.
  • Analyse asset performance, trends and deterioration patterns to identify emerging risks and opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with Operations and Engineering teams to validate risk evidence and assessments.
  • Produce meaningful management information and risk insights to support decision-making at all levels.
  • Support Tier 3 risk review meetings, ensuring compliance with the WRAP framework.
  • Update and manage risk statuses, ensuring accurate records and audit trails are maintained.
  • Assess the effectiveness of completed asset interventions and measure benefits delivered through risk mitigation.
  • Support business case development and investment planning activities.
  • Contribute to regulatory submissions through robust data analysis and evidence management.
  • Share best practice and peer review risk assessments across different asset areas.
  • Support the continuous improvement of risk management methodologies in line with ISO 55000 Asset Management principles.
  • Represent Risk Managers at stakeholder meetings when required.

This role may not be eligible for sponsorship
