Overview

In this role you drive the integrated water management agenda across Cheshire, aligning cross-sector partners to deliver sustainable, place-based solutions. You will shape strategy, governance and partnerships to maximize environmental, social and economic value. The position supports UU’s PR24 ambitions and strengthens ecosystem resilience through nature-based approaches. You work with local authorities, environmental groups and landowners to deliver tangible benefits for customers and communities.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the delivery of UU's Integrated Water Management strategy across the region
  • Build and maintain influential relationships with local authorities, environmental organisations, landowners and other stakeholders
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for collaborative, partnership-led solutions with shared objectives
  • Manage and develop a pipeline of partnership projects from concept to delivery
  • Ensure governance and reporting for integrated water management initiatives
  • Collaborate with WRMP, DWMP and WINEP teams to maximise value
  • Champion nature-based solutions to strengthen ecosystem resilience
  • Track and demonstrate benefits delivered by projects and partnerships

Key requirements

  • Experience with a wide range of stakeholders and successful partnerships
  • Strong communication and relationship-management skills with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Knowledge of environmental, water, planning or infrastructure sectors
  • Understanding of ecosystem resilience and nature-based solutions for sustainable outcomes
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data and translate insights into action
  • Experience managing competing priorities in a complex environment
  • Good knowledge of SharePoint, Excel and reporting systems
  • Awareness of WINEP, WRMP and DWMP frameworks
