At United Utilities, we’re looking for an Evidence & Assurance Manager to play a pivotal role in strengthening the quality, credibility and integrity of our regulatory submissions. Your work will directly support investment decisions that impact millions of people, the environment and the future of water in the North West.

What you’ll be doing

  • Shape high-quality submissions – Lead the development of clear, well-structured technical evidence, business cases and supporting documentation
  • Build trusted assurance processes – Design and run frameworks that ensure traceability, transparency and audit readiness
  • Act as a critical friend – Challenge assumptions and test evidence from a regulatory perspective to strengthen our submissions
  • Bring everything together – Work across teams (including strategy, finance, delivery and external partners) to ensure evidence is aligned and consistent
  • Uphold quality and clarity – Ensure all information is accurate, accessible and stands up to scrutiny
  • Support senior decision-making – Prepare insights, summaries and reports for executive and board-level discussions
  • Drive continuous improvement – Help us evolve how we develop, document and assure evidence

What we’re looking for

  • Experience in evidence development, assurance, audit, regulation or complex programmes
  • An ability to translate complex data into clear, defensible insights
  • A strong eye for detail, with the ability to manage multiple inputs and maintain traceability
  • Confidence in collaborating across diverse teams and disciplines
  • Strong communication skills, including presenting to senior stakeholders
  • Experience in regulated sectors (such as water, energy or infrastructure) is helpful but not essential
