What You Will Be Doing:
- Team leadership & operational management: Lead and manage a team of up to 20 staff at a strategic water production site, ensuring effective operations and maintenance performance.
- Safety, compliance & quality: Ensure full adherence to health, safety, security, and regulatory standards while delivering high‑quality water supply.
- Performance & cost efficiency: Drive business performance, meet financial targets, and deliver efficient operations at the lowest sustainable cost.
- Asset & production management: Oversee operation and maintenance of assets to meet production plans, ensuring alignment with quality standards and stakeholder requirements.
- Continuous improvement & project support: Identify and resolve operational issues, lead performance improvements, and act as a key contact for asset upgrades, design, and commissioning activities.
What We Are Looking For:
- Qualifications & technical background: HNC/HND (or equivalent) in a technical/numerate discipline is ideal, with a full driving licence and understanding of water production operations and regulatory frameworks.
- Leadership & team performance: Strong managerial skills with the ability to lead, motivate, and deliver high performance across a 24/7 operational team with experience managing a shift rota.
- Communication & collaboration: Effective communicator, able to engage and liaise with internal stakeholders and support colleagues.
- Analytical & problem‑solving skills: Capable of analysing technical and operational issues, driving solutions, and knowing when to escalate for support.
- Experience & commercial awareness: Background in process environments with technical and people management experience, plus understanding of operations, maintenance strategies, and cost‑effective asset performance.
This role will support the Production Manager (Strategic Site) in balancing financial, customer service, regulatory compliance and people priorities in order to deliver the business plan and sustainable and effective operations and maintenance regimes.
