Job Purpose: Responsible for the delivery of a variety of site maintenance activities including grounds maintenance, vegetation management, soft landscaping and other minor building maintenance in line with the maintenance plan for each site. To ensure the site standards are upheld on our Wastewater Treatment Works on all non-asset areas for the site to the quality, performance and safety standards of the company.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled grounds maintenance, vegetation management, soft landscaping, and minor building repairs across multiple sites.
  • Use and maintain powered and non-powered tools, vehicles, trailers, ride-on mowers, and handheld equipment, ensuring daily checks are completed.
  • Carry out physically demanding tasks outdoors, often near environmental hazards and sewerage contamination, while adhering to Health & Safety standards.
  • Accurately log completed work on corporate systems and maintain stock levels for materials.
  • Coordinate daily tasks with the Team Leader, assist in training new starters from employment programs, and liaise with process and network teams on-site.
  • Apply pesticides safely, identify site improvement opportunities, and ensure all activities comply with company policies and regulations.

Technical Skills & Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in grounds maintenance, vegetation management, soft landscaping, and building upkeep in outdoor environments.
  • Skilled in using machinery such as pedestrian mowers, strimmers, blowers, pole saws, hedge cutters, and ride-on mowers.
  • Full clean driving licence required; PA1 & PA6 pesticide application certification and B+E towing entitlement desirable (or willingness to obtain).
  • Ability to plan activities across multiple sites, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and deliver excellent customer service.
  • Competent in dynamic risk assessment; relevant land-based industry qualifications (City & Guilds/NVQ/Lantra) are advantageous.
