What You Will Be Doing:
Main Responsibilities:
- Using a single and consistent framework for the identification, management and escalation of risk. Prioritise needs to ensure budget is targeted at priority areas balancing customer, business, ODI and Health and Safety requirements.
- Support development of the yearly CBPs and ensure prioritisation and deliverability align to this.
- Evaluate escalations in line with business affordability constraints and strategic business outcome guidelines.
- Manage the prioritisation of risks regionally according to business priority and risk profile, working closely with counties to manage it within the allocated funds.
- Clear and finalised budgetary allocation information provided to business.
- Identification of changing business priorities and undertaking appropriate sensitivity analysis.
- Identifying Cost Benefit sensitivities linked to consequence v benefit v risk working with the planning and performance team as a whole.
- Managing the regional collation of new/emerging risks working closely with the Risk Managers.
- Consider alternative approaches to prioritisation solutions.
- Build relationships with Analysts across the team and other areas of the business i.e. strategy, finance, operations, commercial.
- Ensure quality of data & embed continuous improvement plans e.g. technology, people skills to evolve the maturity of the wider totex prioritisation and planning capability.
What We Are Looking For:
Skills, qualifications and experience:
- Strong understanding of Water TOTEX planning, investment management, governance processes, and budget planning requirements to support effective business plan delivery.
- Advanced data analytics, data management, and statistical analysis skills, with the ability to interpret complex information and translate multiple requirements into clear, actionable plans.
- Proficient in creating engaging dashboards, reports, and performance insights, using tools such as Excel, SAP, Primavera P6, GIS, and the MS Office Suite.
- Demonstrated ability to challenge contractual functions, identify risks, and solve complex planning issues, including support for ODI annualised risk assessments and prioritisation activities.
- Strong commercial acumen, problem-solving capability, and influencing skills, with the confidence to communicate complex data to stakeholders up to Senior Management level.
- Degree-level expertise or equivalent experience in a mathematical, statistical, or economic discipline, combined with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
