Job Purpose: As Meter Reading Team Manager you will provide day to day operational management for a team of Data Collectors within the Cheshire Region and support to the Field Manager in optimising the performance of the team to deliver business objectives. The role will involve regular travel across the UK and an element of standby working will be required (evening and weekends).
Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
- Support and direct the activities of team members, hold communication meetings and briefings and conduct annual dialogues and plan team career and development
- Assist in developing and implementing communication and resourcing plans
- Monitor, control and report on operational performance and service levels and give feedback to the team
- Equip the team with adequate tools and equipment to perform their work efficiently and effectively
- Identify ongoing training needs for the team, ensure that training records are maintained and deliver training where appropriate
- Control costs of field operations and identify areas for improvement and efficiencies
- Contribute to process / business improvement initiatives and share best practice and information within the Company
- Investigate and resolve complaints by providing first line technical support
- Raise issues appropriately to the Field Manager
Technical Skills & Experience:
- Knowledge of the local geographical area is key to this role
- Knowledge of the data collection activity and key processes within it as well as detailed understanding of how data is processed within Data Collection (i.e. data allocation and retrieval)
- Ideally you will have taken the lead in delivering tasks or projects and played a key part in the prioritisation and allocation of tasks / activities amongst a team
- Experience within the Energy / Water Services sector
- Experience of resolving customer issues, conducting data analysis, scheduling work and achieving stretching targets
- Full UK Driving Licence
