Job Purpose
As Meter Reader Specialist you will deliver high quality, accurate utility meter readings at customers’ properties (domestic and non-household), and to gather customer information and any other associated information required to assist our billing team and Retailers.
Providing excellent customer service, resolving customer billing, metering and water efficiency queries, via the collection of data, the provision of information to customers and/or maintenance of meters (limited to external ‘screw out / screw in’ exchanges & simple internal replacements < 20mm), to support resolution
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Accurately collect meter, customer, property and associated data in accordance with business processes, and Regulator standards
- Operate Meter Reading and other IT equipment within the polices, processes and guidelines specified by the company
- Escalate issues with customers or equipment appropriately to the team manager
- Ensure that key performance indicators are met for each job type
- Promptly report safety issues that could affect employees, work colleagues, customers or member of the public
- Provide the highest level of customer satisfaction and service at each customer contact
Technical Skills & Experience
- Relevant and recent experience in working in a meter reading related field role
- Previous experience of high volume data capture and data entry work in a customer facing field environment
- Knowledge of metering, meter reading and customer supply systems
- Excellent oral communication, customer service and interpersonal skills
- Proven successful track record of achieving daily monthly performance targets
- Full UK Driving Licence
- This role may not be eligible for visa sponsorship
