The role: We are currently recruiting four Mechanical Fitters to join our teams across the following locations: Two positions in Greater Manchester and two positions in Merseyside. When applying, please clearly state your preferred location within your CV or covering letter.

In this role you will provide mechanical maintenance and technical support to the operational teams to maintain low levels of asset downtime and reduce operational risk. This role is specific to Inlet Screens and will drive improved preventative maintenance of this asset base. The role can require lone working and confined spaces working to ensure assets fully meet operational and maintenance requirements and the desired business outcome. There is no participation in an out of hours standby rota required. The role will be regional for an area of the wastewater business.

What you'll be doing:

  • To provide efficient mechanical maintenance and repair service, thus ensuring the optimal availability of assets, whilst at the same time keeping within budget and quality parameters.
  • Responsible in conjunction with the Scheduling team, for completing all planned work scheduled within agreed service levels.
  • To perform planned and proactive maintenance activities to ensure asset availability and efficient operation.
  • To ensure compliance with all Health and Safety regulations.
