Job Purpose
We’re looking for a skilled and driven Maintenance Team Leader to lead maintenance and operational support across multiple sites (Bury, Oldham, Leigh, and Stockport). You’ll manage a team of multi-disciplined engineers and contractors, ensuring equipment and systems are maintained safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
This is a frontline leadership role where you’ll play a key part in delivering reliable wastewater and bioresource services to the region – protecting public health, the environment, and supporting renewable energy production.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day maintenance activities across several sites, ensuring work is delivered safely and efficiently.
  • Champion planned and predictive maintenance to minimise unplanned downtime and improve plant performance.
  • Identify root causes of failures and drive long-term solutions that support reliability.
  • Collaborate with other field teams and planning teams to align resources with operational priorities.
  • Support and influence capital projects, ensuring assets are designed with maintainability and future efficiency in mind.

Technical Skills & Experience

  • Strong working knowledge of planned, preventative, and predictive maintenance systems
  • A practical, problem-solving mindset with the ability to analyse data and lead on improvements
  • Proven record of improving team performance, productivity, and asset reliability
  • Technical confidence in fault-finding and overseeing complex repairs
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and deliver maintenance within time, cost, and quality targets.

Qualifications
Essential Qualifications

  • Time served in a relevant engineering discipline, HNC, ONC or equivalent in a relevant technical area and have extensive experience

A full UK Driving licence is essential for this role
