The role: Whether you’re skilled in a single discipline or bring a dual skillset to the table, this is your opportunity to make an impact and grow while you’re doing it. We’re looking for a motivated and hands‑on professional to join our Lancaster Wastewater Treatment Works, where you’ll be part of a modern, fast‑paced maintenance environment focused on keeping critical water assets running smoothly. You’ll be delivering proactive planned and reactive support across your area of expertise while helping us stay compliant with all statutory, regulatory, and environmental standards. There’s also the chance to get involved in shaping capital and operational projects, ensuring our assets are not just functional - but future ready. Due to the nature of the role, you’ll need to be comfortable working alone at times, as well as part of a wider, collaborative team. You’ll also be required to work in confined spaces and take part in our standby rota.

- Implement an efficient Mechanical maintenance service.
- Analyse faults, rectify and ensure correct mechanical and systems-based equipment.
- Perform planning and proactive maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety regulations and internal company policies.
- Maintain required financial control of pre‑defined budgets.

- Time‑served apprentice or an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a Mechanical discipline.
- Industry experience in a relevant maintenance, instrumentation or engineering environment.
- Strong diagnostic, organisational and planning skills.
- You’ll be working hands‑on with mechanical assets including pumps, gearboxes, valves, and rotating machinery - keeping our wastewater treatment operations running efficiently.
- Ability and willingness to diversify into specialist areas of maintenance as needed.
