Job Purpose
Working closely with and reporting to the Senior Property Lawyer (Property), the post holder will provide legal advice and representation to United Utilities Water Limited in relation to property and land transaction matters to ensure that our business operates within the legal and regulatory framework and that our business\’ commercial interests are protected; and deliver the land transaction matters undertaken by United Utilities Water Limited and other parts of the UU Group.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Support and assist the Senior Property Lawyer (Property), Property Lawyers and Legal Officer (Property) to deliver (end to end) all adoption, connection, build over agreements – mostly precedent based work but with professional knowledge behind to support any changes of approach (on each and every document)
- To carry out any other Property-related Legal work as and when requested by the Senior Property Lawyer and Property Lawyer.
- No leadership responsibilities
- Extensive liaison with internal clients, developers, customers and advisors
- Ensure that accurate and timely legal advice is provided for contentious and non-contentious property and land related matters;
- Deliver all property advice and land transactions to ensure that they are carried out in a timely, efficient and cost effective manner and on the best possible provisions to our business;
- Ensure all areas of our business are aware of the requirements of the law relevant to their activities in relation to property and land transaction matters
