Job Purpose
Join us in a pivotal new role where you'll help drive cutting-edge innovation projects within engineering, assess their impact, and share valuable insights across United Utilities. Your work will directly contribute to the successful delivery of our AMP8 capital programme and help shape a more sustainable future for the water sector."
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Drive innovation performance by evaluating projects, tracking KPIs, and supporting continuous improvement across capital delivery.
- Deliver high-quality insights through data analysis, scorecards, and impactful reporting to inform strategic decisions.
- Champion knowledge sharing by capturing and disseminating learnings from innovation projects across internal teams and external partners and regulators.
- Engage stakeholders including funding bodies, innovation partners, and delivery teams to align efforts and maximise impact.
- Lead communications on innovation and carbon initiatives through compelling updates, presentations, and digital content.
Technical Skills & Experience
- Data Analysis, Reporting & Performance Monitoring – Proven ability to gather, analyse, and present data using tools like Power BI and Excel to support decision-making and performance tracking. Skilled in creating and maintaining scorecards, dashboards, and process improvement tools to monitor innovation outcomes.
- Knowledge Management – Experience in capturing tacit knowledge and developing tools and processes for effective knowledge sharing across teams and partners.
- Regulatory Insight – Working knowledge of the water industry’s regulatory framework and sector-specific challenges, with the ability to apply this in innovation contexts.
- Digital Communication Tools – Confident user of multiple digital platforms including SharePoint, Yammer, and LinkedIn for internal and external engagement.
- Proactive & Curious – Shows initiative, seeks out new knowledge, and stays engaged with emerging trends in innovation and sustainability.
