Job Purpose: You will be responsible for delivering a range of site maintenance activities across our Wastewater Treatment Works. This includes grounds maintenance, vegetation management, soft landscaping, and minor building repairs, all in accordance with the site-specific maintenance plans. Your role is essential in ensuring that all non-asset areas of the site are maintained to the highest standards of quality, performance, and safety, in line with company expectations. You will play a key part in upholding the visual and operational standards of our facilities, contributing to a safe and well-maintained working environment.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Perform a range of maintenance tasks including grounds maintenance, vegetation management, soft landscaping, and minor building repairs across multiple sites, following a set schedule.
  • Operate and maintain equipment such as vehicles, trailers, ride-on mowers, and handheld tools, while carrying out physically demanding work in outdoor environments with potential exposure to environmental hazards and sewage.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed work using the company’s corporate system, and carry out minor remedial work on non-asset infrastructure (e.g. paving, fencing) within your level of training and competence.
  • Support team operations by organising daily tasks with the Team Leader, managing material stock levels, and contributing to the training of new starters from youth and agency programmes.
  • Ensure safety and compliance by adhering to Health and Safety regulations, identifying site improvement opportunities, liaising with process and network teams, and safely handling and applying pesticides.

Technical Skills & Experience:

  • Ability to demonstrate practical experience of a variety of maintenance activities including grounds maintenance, vegetation management, soft landscaping and building maintenance in an outdoor environment.
  • Able to demonstrate practical experience in using a variety of machinery such as pedestrian mowers, strimmers, blowers, pole saws, hedge cutters and ride on mowers.
  • Able to plan activities on a variety of sites to a schedule provided.
  • Able to communicate with a range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to risk assess dynamically.

This role may not be eligible for visa sponsorship.

Qualifications:

  • Achieved Pesticide Application PA1 & PA6 or be willing to undertake the qualification.
  • Hold B + E towing entitlement or be willing to undertake the qualification.
  • City & Guilds / NVQ / Lantra qualification in land based industry is desirable.
  • Full UK driving licence is required to carry out this role.
