Job Purpose:

Join our Energy Generation team, where you’ll maintain, optimise, and repair our cutting-edge energy generation assets, including combined heat and power (CHP) engines, gas-to-grid systems, and associated equipment. You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring these assets operate efficiently and reliably, contributing to sustainable energy production.

This is a varied and hands-on position, where you’ll work both independently and collaboratively, tackling diagnostics, maintenance, and innovation in renewable energy technologies. As part of a supportive team, you’ll also provide guidance to apprentices and contractors.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Perform planned and reactive maintenance to optimise asset availability.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues using a range of data sources.
  • Collaborate with site operations to align power production with site needs.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and safety policies.
  • Participate in a standby rota to respond to emergency situations.

Technical Skills & Experience:

  • Electrical core skill
  • Experience in power generation, including HV/LV systems, gas engines, and control systems
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and excellent communication skills
  • Familiarity with safe systems of work and statutory regulations

Essential Qualifications:

  • A time-served apprentice or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline / ELEC (e.g., HNC/ONC).
  • A valid driving licence is needed for this role
