Job Purpose
This role supports the efficient movement of assets across the UU region, reducing delays and operational costs. Using site knowledge and internal systems, you'll streamline asset handling, assist workshop teams with manual tasks, and help speed up repair cycles—enabling technical staff to focus on complex rebuilds and diagnostics.
The role involves providing support to a Pump Wider Fitter therefore, typical working hours for this role are 7:00am to 3:00pm, Monday to Friday.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Support workshop operations by carrying out manual labour tasks, including loading/unloading the oven, cleaning parts, and assisting Pump Fitters to ensure efficient asset repair cycles.
- Manage asset logistics by collecting and delivering equipment across the region, upholding health and safety standards and representing Refurbishment Services professionally.
- Operate safely and efficiently using pallet trucks and forklifts to move and store parts throughout the workshop during the repair process.
- Ensure high-quality finishes by spray painting final assemblies to a professional standard.
- Assist in emergencies by supporting the lifting and transport of assets to internal or external workshops, while maintaining high driver safety scores and minimising driving-related risks.
Technical Skills & Experience
- To demonstrate practical experience working in an operational/workshop environment
- A good understanding of Environmental Regulation in the Wastewater Industry and lifting regulations
- Knowledge of and practical experience working with Water and Wastewater assets – (Desirable although not essential)
- Ability to communicate effectively with a range of people
- Significant driving experience

Qualifications
- A Forklift Truck License is desirable; however, United Utilities can support successful candidates in obtaining this qualification once in role.
A valid full UK driving licence is essential for this role.
