Overview

As part of a dynamic, high-performing team, our Agricultural Advisors (AAs) play a vital role in the sustainable recycling and disposal of Bioresource products-including biosolids, water sludge, and other materials. Operating within a defined geographical area, you will develop and maintain our landbank for Bioresource recycling, build strong relationships with farming customers, and deliver excellent customer service. You may also support marketing and promotional activities for Bioresource products as our services evolve. You will coordinate recycling logistics with haulage contractors and engage a wide range of stakeholders including customers, regulators such as the Environment Agency and Environmental Health, the public, and colleagues across United Utilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the United Utilities landbank in your designated area to ensure sufficient land availability for compliant Bioresource recycling.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to farming customers, including tailored agronomic advice aligned with their farming practices.
  • Ensure all recycling and disposal operations comply with United Utilities\' Code of Practice, relevant regulations, industry best practices, and the Biosolids Assurance Scheme (BAS).
  • Coordinate and oversee recycling operations carried out by internal teams or contractors, ensuring quality standards and procedures are met.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders including regulators (Environment Agency, Environmental Health), the NFU, customers, and the public.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of UK farming practices.
  • Experience in farm advisory or agricultural sales roles.
  • Solid knowledge of regulations and Codes of Practice related to recycling products to land.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and mapping software (e.g., ArcGIS, MapInfo).
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with resilience and adaptability, FACTS qualified/trained or equivalent, or willing to achieve this within one year of appointment.
  • A valid driving licence.

Salary and Employment Details

Salary: £44,320. Work type: Hybrid. Location: Blackburn, Manchester, Crewe. Role type: Permanent. Employment type: Full Time. Working hours: 37.0 hours per week.
