We are looking for a skilled and collaborative Street Works Auditor to step into a visible, influential role supporting the Street Works Team Leader and strengthening assurance across our network. Operating at the heart of a highly regulated environment, you will work closely with internal teams and trusted external partners, building clear, confident communication and strong working relationships. This role suits a proactive and independent professional who is comfortable making informed decisions, challenging standards, and driving continuous improvement while helping set the benchmark for Street Works compliance and best practice.
As a Street Works Auditor, you will play a pivotal role in driving excellence across all Network and Street Works activities. You will ensure compliance with regulation, enhance operational performance, and support a culture of quality and accountability across United Utilities and our partners.
Accountabilities and responsibilities:
- Support the Street Works Team Leader in delivering a comprehensive audit and assurance programme across all Network and Street Works activities.
- Build strong working relationships with internal teams, Network Partners, external auditors, and Highways Authorities to resolve quality, compliance, and assurance issues.
- Produce and interpret high quality audit, testing, and performance data against NRSWA, SROH, and all relevant standards and best practice.
- Contribute to the successful delivery of the full Audit and Assurance programme, ensuring United Utilities consistently meets and exceeds compliance requirements.
- Champion best practice within Asset Performance, supporting effective short, medium, and long term planning for Network and Street Works quality assurance.
- Make confident day to day decisions on audit delivery, data insight, and issue resolution within a tightly regulated environment.
- Work collaboratively with customers, partners, auditors, and assurance providers to deliver a customer focused service that drives value and high quality outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Full NRSWA Operator and Supervisor qualifications covering construction, monitoring, supervision, and auditing, with current ID cards.
- Strong working knowledge of NRSWA, SROH, UKAS, and associated regulations, standards, and technical practices.
- Proven experience delivering structured Network and or Street Works audits and testing programmes to demanding deadlines.
- Excellent communication, influencing, planning, and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively under pressure.
- Self motivated and comfortable working independently, with a commitment to staying up to date with evolving legislation and best practice.
