An Auditor is technically competent on all aspects of auditing and assurance of clean water or wastewater sites to a variety of QA, DWI, HSW, EA and ISO standards, regulations and best practice – delivering the audit and assurance programme and contributing to its development. The role will help deliver best practice and thereby deliver improved UU performance, within a tightly regulated environment.
This role may not be eligible for visa sponsorship.
- Responsible for day to day auditing (lead auditor) and assurance of UU’s clean water or wastewater asset base and its operation, to the standards and programme defined by the Wholesale Assurance Manager.
- Operating within a small audit team with varying technical challenges, no budget control or direct reports.
- Support the Senior Assurance Manager in preparation for performance meetings, including data interpretation and manipulation and liaison with internal teams and provide data for meetings with external agencies and regulators.
- A good understanding of all relevant regulations and standards, including all relevant clean water or wastewater regulations, HSW, QA and best practice standards, ISO standards, Insurance (and other relevant similar standards) and DWI and EA auditing standards.
- Good business understanding of company systems such as STS, MyRisk, Airline, SCADA and Chemwatch.
- A good understanding of site operations.
- Support the Compliance Auditor and Assurance Manager during discussions with internal UU teams and regulators, as required on water and wastewater audit and assurance matters.
- Participation in the development and successful implementation of new audit and assurance approaches.
- Communication with teams across UU e.g. Production Managers, Property etc.
- Conducting and writing audits and inspections on UU’s asset base and its operation. This includes producing audit reports, using a central audit tracking system and tracking and reporting progress. Working with others to ensure effective close out of actions.
- Trained to Internal Auditor Standard ISO9001 & ISO14001.
- Good communication, influencing and planning skills.
- Systematic and accurate.
- Good IT, oral and written skills.
- Good understanding of all aspects of the water and wastewater asset base and its operation.
Desirable
- 2 years auditing experience and basic understanding of ISO9001, ISO14001 & ISO45001.
- Lead Auditor Standard.
Assurance team members carry out assurance review activities on all of our operational sites and assets to ensure they meet the requirements of quality, environmental, H&S, Asset management ISO standards and regulations.
