This is a hybrid role working 3 days in the office (City of London location) and 2 days working from home.
Role Purpose
Responsible for monitoring and processing of day-to-day payment operation activity for the centralised function including STP payment release, reconciliations and the daily management of company balances. Handling ad‑hoc queries from internal and external sources. The candidate will also have opportunity to get involved in project work to improve efficiency for payment related processes throughout the bank.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that all outgoing STP payments are approved and released in accordance with the relevant mandate.
- All transactions to be handled within SLA.
- Any exceptions to be resolved, coordinating with key stakeholders as appropriate, and recorded in line with policy.
- Any complaints, issues and near misses to be escalated and recorded promptly as they occur.
- Point of contact for payment related queries, from internal and external sources.
- Ensure sufficient balances in Nostro accounts to meet daily cashflow requirements, confirming high value transactions with respective desks to ensure efficient funding.
- Complete daily reconciliations of Nostro accounts, documenting and leading the resolution of any exceptions.
- Opportunity to get involved in payment related project work, testing, and implementing system/industry regulation changes and improvements.
- Documenting processes and updating existing procedures.
- Contributing to maintaining relationships with clearing banks and payment service providers.
Skills and Experience
- Experience of payment processing and reconciliation investigations.
- Experience in a multi‑function team is preferred but not essential.
- Experience in working within a small team.
- Highly numerate and IT literate.
- Good organisational skills.
- Accuracy and eye for detail.
