UTA is seeking a Business Director to join its EMEA Entertainment & Culture Marketing team in our London office. This person is responsible for overseeing and leading entertainment marketing (including branded entertainment initiatives, talent partnerships and strategy), colleagues and processes to ensure client satisfaction. This position is expected to consistently provide excellent customer service to accounts, as well as represent client needs and goals within the organisation to ensure quality.

What You'll Do:

  • Expert across entertainment and culture marketing, constantly monitoring the market and competitive intelligence within the entertainment and culture landscape.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with brands, branded entertainment and talent agency stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker who has the ability to research and analyse data from multiple sources to develop client-focused narratives and recommendations (e.g. market landscapes, audience intelligence, integration valuations).
  • Oversees and directs team members in client service, partnership management, general relationship development, project coordination and internal agency resource coordination.
  • Partners with the agency's internal research and insights team to establish programme success metrics on the front-end, while leading the process to determine programme effectiveness on the back-end.
  • Manage incoming talent deals on behalf of talent deals which UTA service on behalf of clients.
  • Oversees and facilitates, in partnership with the Head of EMEA, deal structures and negotiation strategy of accounts; works with client, agency and internal team to craft the best business structures for clients entering or renewing agreements in the entertainment arena.
  • Facilitates negotiations between the partner and client where/when required; and once a client is on retainer, manages the relationship to ensure the client is fully leveraging all benefits and assets.
  • Serves as a primary point of contact for clients and partners setting the tone for regular formal and informal check-ins, status meetings, troubleshooting and advancing the business.
  • Intercedes when issues arise between partners and programmes; works diligently to create solutions for clients.
  • Understands the landscape for each client's business/sector as well as the industry contexts for their activities. Builds cutting edge strategic plans for clients to meet/exceed objectives with the support of insights and data from team members.
  • Maintains a good working relationship with key stakeholders to ensure all parties receive appropriate attention, support, and ensures UTA EMEA and US are in lock-step with the client's plans as it relates to the growth and changes.
  • Builds relationships with clients to encourage new and repeat business opportunities and is willing to "walk the halls" and spend the time with the client to solidify the agency's position inside the client organization.
  • Uses forward-thinking initiative to identify the next best strategic opportunities and continue to deliver top results to the client.

What You'll Need:

  • 10+ years relevant experience with minimum 6 years of direct experience in account and project management.
  • Specific experience working in a TV, film or entertainment environment, or within talent agency working with top tier talent.
  • Working knowledge of project management fundamentals.
  • High-level proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; advanced skills in PowerPoint, Word and Excel for deck development and budget management.
  • Possess exceptional communication skills, both orally and in writing.
  • Superior interpersonal skills and be able to create a rapport with people of all demographics.
  • Proven Account Management skills required in order to create, maintain and enhance customer relationships.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree (and preferably a Masters Degree) is desirable.
  • Strong leadership capabilities to motivate team to accomplish goals and develop professional skills.
  • Motivated, goal oriented, persistent and a skilled negotiator.
  • High level of initiative and works well independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and highly organised.
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
