We are looking for a male support worker to join an exceptional team supporting an incredible man with complex needs, while one of his long-standing support workers takes paternity leave.
In just 9 months, this gentleman has come on in leaps and bounds. With the right support around him, he is:
- Engaging more meaningfully
- Accessing his environment more confidently
- Living with far fewer restrictions
- Building confidence, joy, and independence
This progress has been achieved through consistency, respect, positive relationships, and a strong support team who genuinely believe in him.
Who are we looking for?
We\’re looking for someone calm, grounded, positive, and full of get-up-and-go. Someone who:
- Has a can-do attitude
- Leads with patience, humour, and empathy
- Wants to make a real difference, not just do a job
- Can work confidently as part of a strong, supportive male team
This gentleman has an infectious laugh, a brilliant sense of humour, and the ability to light up a room. When supported in a way that is meaningful to him, he is an absolute pleasure to support.
What will you be doing?
You\’ll be supporting him to live life to the fullest in ways that matter to him, including:
- Swimming once or twice per week
- Go-karting
- Walks on the beach
- Encouraging a positive mindset
- Supporting him towards coastal walks, a big goal for 2026
Experience & skills
- Experience in Positive Behaviour Support is ideal
- Understanding of restrictive practices, and that restraint should only ever be used as an absolute last resort, in line with best practice and legislation
- On rare occasions, if unwell or struggling to communicate his needs, he may display behaviour that can be challenging — calm, trauma-informed, and relationship-based support is key
Support structure (2:1)
This is a2:1 support , meaning you will always be working alongside a competent, experienced, and well-established member of the team. You will never be left unsupported, and teamwork and consistency are central to how this support is delivered.
Safeguarding & professionalism
