Senator Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.) is looking for a highly-motivated and detail-oriented Special Assistant/Driver for his Boston, Massachusetts office.
The candidate will be able to work independently, manage time efficiently, demonstrate excellent judgment and discretion, communicate clearly and professionally, possess knowledge of current events and issues, and have a strong interest in public service and working with constituents. Primary responsibility is driving and staffing the Senator around the Commonwealth. Other key responsibilities include managing the front desk, answering telephone calls, greeting visitors, preparing daily materials for the Senator, performing general administrative duties, and maintaining a casework portfolio. Qualified candidates must have an impeccable driving record and a reliable vehicle. This position requires the individual be available for extended and unscheduled hours (including nights, weekends and/or holidays). Additional duties as assigned. This is an entry level position.

The salary for this position is $62,355 annually, with benefits that include a federal student loan repayment option.
