You will serve as an Information Technology Specialist (DATAMGT) in the METOC SYSTEMS AND INFRASTRUCTURE DEPT of NAVAVNFCSTCEN.

Duties

  • You will automate the acquisition, manipulation, dissemination, and rendering of data to meet operational timeliness, accuracy, and volume demands necessary to execute the command's mission and fulfil customers' requirements.
  • You will manage IT resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, recoverability, and continued interoperability.
  • You will manage and execute the installation and integration of system and service fixes, updates, and performance enhancements.
  • You will isolate and resolve design and delivery of data services.
  • You will administer databases and/or data management systems that allow for the storage, query, and utilisation of data.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level.
  • Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position.
  • You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area Database Administrator level Intermediate within 12 months of appointment.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required.
  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential.

Qualifications

  • Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
  • Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
    • Experience exercising formal supervisory authority, including developing performance standards, evaluating civilian/military personnel, and managing a multi-tiered workforce through subordinate supervisors or team leads.
    • Experience chairing or serving as a key voting member on an IT Configuration Control Board (CCB) or similar IT governance body.
    • Practical knowledge of managing and integrating complex enterprise IT environments, specifically involving virtualized desktop infrastructure (VDI), Microsoft Exchange, and host-based security systems (HBSS).
    • Experience developing and executing Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Operating Level Agreements (OLAs) to manage customer expectations and support package delivery.
    • Strategic knowledge of military/government C4 planning, IT modernization protocols, and cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
