Communications Material Specialist

You will serve as a COMMUNICATIONS MATERIAL SPECIALIST in the COMMUNICATIONS DIVISION of COMHELSEACOMBATWING LANT.

Duties:

• You will develop, process and safeguard specialized communications security information, by applying broad knowledge of the Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) program.
• You will analyze major issues and provide expertise in organizing, accessing and disseminating command and local KMI material.
• You will establish and maintain internal quality processes to ensure appropriate accountability for all KMI information and material.
• You will provide training for command and local KMI personnel through a series of formal and informal lectures, training visits, inspections, and spot checks.
• You will plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and schedule for completion of work.

Requirements:

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
• Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
• New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
• Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.

• MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required.
• A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test.
• You will be subject to random testing.
• This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 723 COMSEC Manager, proficiency level Basic.
• The incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
• May be required to work overtime.
• May be recalled to duty.

Qualifications:

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

• Experience applying in-depth knowledge of the major Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) and Secure Terminal Equipment (STE) information functions, which include report preparation, automated system services, developing, registering, classifying, processing, receiving, and transmitting KMI and STE key information.
• Experience applying comprehensive knowledge of subject area to include new developments to resolve complex problems and develop new approaches related to selecting, acquiring, preserving, accessing, organizing, and disseminating KMI and STE information.
• Experience applying knowledge of the wide range of techniques, sources and procedures, and specialized experience to assign appropriate terms to KMI and STE key information using modified practices when necessary.
• Experience applying comprehensive in-depth knowledge of KMI and STE production methods to provide the most effective and timely service.
