About the role
As a Software Engineer within the Timetabling product team, you will contribute to the delivery of digital services that underpin teaching and learning across the company. Working within a product‑led, agile environment, you will design, build and support secure, scalable and user‑centered solutions aligned to institutional priorities. You will work across the full product lifecycle, collaborating with product managers, delivery leads and stakeholders to shape, implement and continuously improve timetabling systems and integrations that support operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver high‑quality software solutions that meet functional and non‑functional requirements.
- Contribute across the end‑to‑end product lifecycle, from discovery through delivery and iteration.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to understand user needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Configure, extend and integrate enterprise systems to deliver timetabling capabilities.
- Design, implement and support Web APIs, integrations and data flows between systems.
- Provide operational support, troubleshooting and resolving incidents.
- Contribute to evolving timetabling and engineering standards, practices and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Experience delivering digital solutions within a product or platform team.
- Experience working across the software lifecycle (discovery, build, test, release and support).
- Knowledge of software engineering principles including security, performance and reliability.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL, Windows Server/IIS, PowerShell or .NET configuration.
- Understanding of APIs, integrations and data flow design.
- Experience working in agile delivery and operational support environments.
- Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in timetabling or higher education environments (highly desirable).
