This role supports our Access For Ecomm team to build and evolve payment gateway solutions, collaborating with cross‑functional squads to drive product innovation.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the squad to design, develop, operate, and improve products our customers use.
• Engage in all stages of development from requirement discussions with the Product Owner to deployment in cloud‑based environments.
• Participate in the on‑call rota to support highly available products.
• Provide tools that enable data‑driven decision making and explore emerging technologies to select appropriate solutions.
• Mentor less experienced engineers within the squad and the wider tribe.
• Lead decision‑making around technologies, patterns, and approaches with other squads.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, implementing, and operating large‑scale, highly available microservices deployed to the cloud.
• Experience building microservices with Docker, Java, Spring Boot, and reactive programming.
• Experience with Test‑Driven Development.
• Focused on quality and a test‑first philosophy.
• Agile mindset driving continuous improvement within the squad and the tribe.
