Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Senior Open Shift / Kubernetes Platform Engineer to join our Infrastructure & Operations team.
In this role, you will be responsible for the engineering, operation, automation, and continuous improvement of the Bank’s enterprise Open Shift and Kubernetes platform supporting mission-critical workloads across hybrid cloud environments.
You will combine platform operations with project delivery, helping to modernize infrastructure through automation, Dev Ops practices, and cloud-native technologies while ensuring the highest standards of security, resilience, compliance, and operational excellence.
This position requires a highly skilled infrastructure engineer with deep expertise in container platforms, Linux, infrastructure automation, and enterprise platform engineering.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Engineering & Operations
Operate, maintain, and continuously improve the Bank’s enterprise Open Shift and Kubernetes platform.
- Ensure platform stability, scalability, security, and performance across hybrid cloud environments.
- Perform complete platform lifecycle management including installation, upgrades, patching, maintenance, and decommissioning.
- Participate in a rotating on-call support schedule within a four-person team.
- Kubernetes & Container Platform
Design, implement, and operate enterprise-grade Kubernetes/Open Shift environments.
- Manage networking, storage, security, and cluster services.
- Develop reusable container platform standards, templates, and base images.
- Support business application teams in adopting cloud-native technologies and containerized workloads.
- Provide architectural guidance for high availability, disaster recovery, and workload resilience.
- Automation & Infrastructure as Code
Develop and maintain infrastructure automation using Infrastructure as Code (Ia C) principles.
- Build reusable automation frameworks using Ansible, Terraform, and Git Ops methodologies.
- Improve operational efficiency through scripting and automation.
- Standardize platform configuration management and orchestration.
- Dev Ops & CI/CD
Design and maintain Git Ops workflows using Argo CD.
- Integrate CI/CD pipelines into infrastructure deployment processes.
- Promote Dev Ops best practices across infrastructure and application delivery teams.
- Collaborate closely with software engineering teams to enable automated application deployment.
- Platform Security & Resilience
Integrate security scanning, compliance controls, and observability into the platform.
- Ensure alignment with Bank security standards, governance, and change management processes.
- Design resilient platform architectures supporting disaster recovery and business continuity.
- Technology Strategy & Innovation
Contribute to the Bank’s hybrid cloud strategy and platform roadmap.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements.
- Drive automation initiatives across the infrastructure landscape.
- Promote engineering best practices and continuous improvement.
- Collaboration
Work closely with Infrastructure, Security, Networking, Storage, Cloud, and Application Development teams.
- Support development teams building cloud-native, serverless, and containerized applications.
- Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- Required
- Minimum
5 years of experience in Open Shift/Kubernetes platform engineering within enterprise environments.
- Strong expertise in
Open Shift, Kubernetes, Linux administration, container technologies, and hybrid cloud platforms .
- Hands-on experience with
OVN-K, Ceph/CSI, Quay, Argo CD/Git Ops, Velero, Ansible, and Terraform .
- Proficiency in
Bash, Python, and Go scripting.
- Solid experience with
Infrastructure as Code (Ia C), configuration management, CI/CD, Git, and Dev Ops practices .
- Strong understanding of automation, platform lifecycle management, and cloud-native technologies.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Preferred
- Experience with data centre infrastructure, networking, virtualization, and public cloud integration .
- Knowledge of
OAuth, token-based authentication, and REST API integrations .
- Experience working in
Agile environments and contributing to technology strategy and platform modernization.
