Our Home Affairs practice is looking for experienced Senior Managers to join the team. This role is focused on strengthening our Government Commercial capability within Home Affairs, helping clients improve how they procure, contract, manage suppliers and deliver value. Our Home Affairs team works at the heart of UK Government, partnering with clients across Policing, Defence, Justice, the Home Office and Arm’s Length Bodies to deliver lasting change for citizens across the UK. Commercial capability is critical to helping the public sector respond to major challenges, improve value for money, strengthen supplier performance and build more effective operating models. What you will be doing:
- Leading government commercial transformation work for Home Affairs and wider public sector clients, helping them improve how they procure, contract, manage suppliers and deliver value.
- Designing and improving commercial operating models, including governance, processes, decision rights, accountabilities, controls and ways of working.
- Advising clients on commercial efficiency opportunities, helping them identify where commercial functions, supplier arrangements or contracts can deliver better value for money.
- Bringing practical knowledge of government commercial regulations, procurement requirements, approval routes and governance into client delivery.
- Working alongside broader company teams to embed commercial expertise into transformation, operating model, digital, data, technology and change programmes.
- Building trusted relationships with senior government stakeholders, including commercial directors, operational leaders, finance teams, policy teams and delivery partners.
- Identifying and shaping new opportunities with Home Affairs and wider public sector clients, contributing to proposals, account development and the growth of the company’s government commercial capability.
- Leading and developing consultants within multi-disciplinary teams, providing direction, coaching and feedback while building the company’s internal commercial knowledge and methods.
Your skills and experience:
We are looking for someone with strong experience helping government or public sector organisations improve their commercial functions. This could include procurement, commercial operating models, supplier management, contract management, commercial efficiency and commercial transformation. Candidates should be able to demonstrate experience in some of the following:
- Experience delivering commercial, procurement or supplier-related transformation work in Home Affairs or wider public sector environments.
- Experience in consulting, within a government commercial function, or through a combination of both.
- Strong understanding of how government commercial functions operate, including procurement regulations, governance, approvals, controls and stakeholder dynamics.
- Experience of working in complex commercial environments, helping programmes to deliver transformation through procurement activity.
- Experience designing, assessing or improving commercial operating models, including structures, roles, processes, decision-making, capability and ways of working.
- Experience identifying and delivering commercial efficiencies, value for money opportunities, supplier performance improvements or contract management improvements.
- Experience working in complex, high-value, multi-stakeholder environments where commercial, operational, policy and delivery priorities need to be balanced.
- Exposure to Home Affairs or adjacent government areas such as policing, law enforcement, justice, defence, national security, the Home Office or central government.
- Experience leading client workstreams or teams, producing high-quality deliverables and turning commercial expertise into practical recommendations.
- Established network and experience leading business development, including shaping opportunities, contributing to proposals or developing client relationships.
