As a Senior Engineer, you’ll play a key role in shaping engineering excellence, taking ownership of critical services and applications, and helping teams deliver high-quality software at scale. What you’ll be doing:

  • Owning services and major technical components, ensuring high standards of quality, security, performance and reliability.
  • Defining and evolving testing strategies, embedding automation and fast feedback loops across engineering teams.
  • Driving improvements in observability through effective monitoring, metrics, logging and alerting capabilities.
  • Using engineering and operational metrics to identify opportunities for improved delivery, reliability and quality outcomes.
  • Championing secure engineering practices and partnering with security specialists to mitigate risk effectively.
  • Leading investigation and resolution of complex technical incidents, conducting root cause analysis and implementing lasting solutions.
  • Mentoring and coaching engineers to strengthen capability across design, testing, security and operational excellence.
  • Influencing architecture, engineering standards and continuous improvement initiatives that support long‑term business value.

Who we’re looking for:

  • Strong experience developing and supporting enterprise applications using Java or other JVM-based languages.
  • Proven expertise working with cloud-native technologies, particularly AWS services, serverless architectures and containerised applications.
  • Solid understanding of software testing practices, including automated testing and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
  • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices within Agile environments.
  • Knowledge of secure software development, web security and API security principles.
  • Experience with microservices architectures, distributed systems and full-stack engineering approaches.
  • Strong technical leadership skills with the ability to mentor colleagues and positively influence engineering outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, analytical and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to balance short-term priorities against long-term value.
