Since September 2024, Sulzer Schmid is part of the company, allowing us to leverage vast expertise to create an even more powerful 3DX™ Blade Platform designed to meet the needs of our customers. For our Software Development team based mainly in Switzerland, we are looking for a motivated Senior Android Developer – Drone Navigation & Control.

Location: Glasgow or Kings Langley, UK.

In this function, you will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining our 3DX™ Blade Platform. We value a hands-on approach and a “get things done” mindset, along with the ability to work creatively and solve complex problems. As a Senior Android Developer, you will interact with different internal stakeholders to design and implement high-quality software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and maintain Android applications for drone navigation and control.
  • Integrate the DJI Mobile SDK (and similar SDKs) to deliver reliable flight and mission control.
  • Collaborate closely with software and operations teams.
  • Provide technical support to drone pilots during field operations.
  • Drive a product from concept to customer release, contributing to the entire software development lifecycle – from planning and design to testing and deployment.

About You:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in Android development.
  • University degree in Engineering or similar.
  • Hands-on experience with the DJI Mobile SDK or comparable drone control SDKs.
  • Proven track record of delivering production-ready software.
  • Ability to bring a product from initial concept to customer release.
  • Strong understanding of geospatial reasoning and spatial data.
  • Willingness to support drone pilots in the field.
  • Experience with navigation and control of drones other than DJI is a plus.
  • C#/.NET programming experience is a plus.
  • Fluent in English; German is a plus.
