The company's Risk & Performance Platform group delivers industry-leading analytical solutions for cross-asset valuation, financial risk modelling, and portfolio performance attribution. These solutions power the company's flagship enterprise products and serve a broad range of businesses across the financial industry. The Risk Valuation Platform is the central component within the group. We own a cross-asset distributed calculations platform offering financial risk calculations for various company Enterprise solutions. Our system runs billions of calculations a day with a guarantee of 24-hour availability, flexibly serving both batch and on-demand traffic across hundreds of machines.
The team sits at the intersection of finance and high-scale infrastructure, working directly with product owners and engineering teams across departments, with exposure to derivatives pricing, market data, and financial risk calculations. Our projects span a broad scope — from building new workflows and analytics delivered directly to end users, to longer-term strategic goals such as rearchitecting our market data management systems, building proactive batch monitoring, and collaborating across risk teams to deliver a single unified firmwide API.
We collaborate closely with other teams in the larger Risk & Performance Platform department and work daily with our product counterparts to move the platform forward and influence its direction. We are dedicated to sharing our knowledge regularly and to creating a collaborative environment. We are looking for software engineers who share our team's passion for building robust, high-scale systems in a fast-paced, client-driven environment.
What's in it for you? You will be joining an enthusiastic team of talented C++ engineers, passionate about our platform, and proud to build industry-leading risk solutions for our clients. Collaboration and teamwork are part of our DNA. You will work in a high-impact team delivering billions of calculations across diverse workflows, gaining deep experience with a large distributed system deployed at true enterprise scale. You will contribute to a large, modernised C++ codebase alongside experienced engineers. We follow developer experience best practices and actively invest in modernising our tooling and infrastructure. You will work closely with our product partners, and take a leading role in designing and delivering new solutions — from initial stakeholder conversations through design, implementation, release, and production. You will deepen your understanding of the financial domain, working alongside market data and derivative pricing teams and experts in our product department.
You'll need to have:
- Professional experience with financial markets, derivatives pricing, or risk calculations
- Commercial experience building products in an object oriented programming language
- A passion for software engineering and building robust systems that can be evolved over time
- A desire to own the software you build — managing stakeholders across engineering and product, and driving work through development, release, and production
- Excellent communication skills
- A Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, similar field of study or equivalent work experience
We'd love to see:
- Experience programming in C++
- Experience working with large-scale distributed systems
- Familiarity using Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment tools
- Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools
