As a Lead Developer Advocate, you will serve as a critical bridge between the company’s product and engineering teams and the global developer community.

You will create technical content, reference implementations, demos, and programs that help SQL developers, analytics engineers, data engineers, and data teams succeed with the company.

You will also represent the voice of the developer internally, translating friction points and emerging workflow needs into actionable product feedback, enablement priorities, and roadmap input.

  • What You’ll Do
  • Define and drive the advocacy strategy
  • Own and execute the developer advocacy strategy for a key the company domain spanning SQL development, analytics workflows, and the modern data stack.
  • Align advocacy priorities with product goals, adoption opportunities, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Identify the highest-value technical narratives, workflows, and proof points that will accelerate developer adoption and trust.
  • Create technical content and reference implementations
  • Build high-quality technical content including tutorials, quickstarts, blog posts, videos, workshop materials, code samples, and opinionated best-practice guides.
  • Design and maintain production-grade reference implementations and demos that show how to use the company for real-world analytics, BI, data transformation, and application development workflows.
  • Create practical enablement assets that help developers go from first use to production, including onboarding paths, architecture patterns, and “how we built this” examples.
  • Lead SQL and analytics workload enablement
  • Define and scale the enablement experience for the company developers working across SQL, data modeling, analytics engineering, dashboards, pipelines, governance, and performance optimization.
  • Create documentation, samples, walkthroughs, and adoption assets for workflows across SQL, ELT/ETL, dbt, orchestration, semantic modeling, BI, and analytics application development.
  • Partner closely with product, engineering, and field teams to identify high-value use cases, develop technical assets, and continuously improve developer workflows.
  • Evangelize the company in the EMEA market
  • Represent the company at conferences, meetups, workshops, hackathons, webinars, and community events through compelling talks and hands-on demonstrations.
  • Engage meaningfully in developer communities across Git Hub, Stack Overflow, Slack, Discord, Reddit, and other relevant channels.
  • Establish thought leadership in SQL development, analytics engineering, developer experience, and data application architecture.
  • Build the feedback loop into product
  • Serve as a trusted internal advocate for developers by synthesizing feedback from customers, community members, partners, and field teams.
  • Translate recurring friction points, workflow gaps, and adoption blockers into actionable recommendations for product and engineering teams.
  • Influence product direction by grounding internal decisions in real developer behavior, technical constraints, and market needs.
  • Scale programs and measure impact
  • Partner with product marketing, sales, solutions engineering, education, and customer teams to scale successful narratives, demos, and programs.
  • Design and run workshops, technical events, and hands-on enablement programs that drive meaningful engagement and product adoption.
  • Define and track metrics for content effectiveness, developer engagement, community growth, and downstream adoption, then use those insights to continuously improve programs.
  • What We’re Looking For

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in developer advocacy, developer relations, technical evangelism, solutions architecture, developer education, or similarly hands-on technical roles.
  • Proven experience operating as a senior individual contributor with significant ownership, influence, and cross-functional leadership.
  • Demonstrated success driving adoption for developer platforms, data products, analytics products, or technical ecosystems.
  • Technical depth
  • Strong hands-on proficiency in SQL and Python.
  • Deep familiarity with modern data and developer workflows, including analytics engineering, data transformation, orchestration, APIs, SDKs, notebooks, BI tools, and cloud data platforms.
  • Strong understanding of SQL-centric developer workflows, including data modeling, query optimization, semantic layers, transformation frameworks, governance, observability, and dashboard or analytics consumption patterns.
  • Experience building demos, prototypes, reference apps, or production-oriented examples for analytics, BI, data applications, or modern data stack use cases.
  • Ability to explain complex technical topics clearly to audiences ranging from highly technical builders to broader developer communities.
  • Content and community leadership
  • Strong public portfolio of technical content such as talks, workshops, blog posts, videos, code samples, open source projects, or community programs.
  • Experience growing and engaging developer communities through authentic participation and useful technical resources.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to turn complex workflows into clear, actionable education.
  • Cross-functional influence
  • Strong product instinct and the ability to identify where developer friction maps to roadmap priorities.
