This senior developer role is within a global application development team responsible for Real Time Pricing and Risk applications for Rates trading business. The role will focus on design and implementation of critical new features as well as architectural and performance improvements. This role requires strong design and programming skills in Java, knowledge of various streaming frameworks as well as familiarity with challenges that arise when implementing real time performant systems. The role is also an excellent opportunity to further one's knowledge financial markets in context of electronic trading, what role risk systems play as well as quantitative foundation of pricing and risk calculations.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the team to understand functional and operational requirements
- Come up with designs and implement robust and testable code in support of the requirements
- Develop certain non‑functional features in the system to improve reliability, scalability and performance
- Contribute to the design and implementation of automated test suites
- Participate in code reviews helping other team members improve their code

Knowledge/Experience
- Significant relevant experience in Application Development
- Experience with system analysis and in programming of software applications, especially as it pertains to performance and testability of components
- Familiarity with interest rates products and associated pricing and risk calculations a plus
- Ability to be proactive, adjust priorities quickly
- Experience working on a mature development in a large collaborative environment as well as coming up with ideas that challenge current practices
- Demonstrated leadership skills
Technology Skills
- Experience with Java ecosystem
- Expert in Java development
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and best DevOps practices
- Exposure to profiling, debugging and monitoring tools
- Familiarity with Apache Flink, KDB and Kafka a plus
- Ambition to learn aspects of systems supporting real time interest rate risk calculations
