Are you an experienced Security Cleared Software Developer in Test looking for your next contract opportunity? We’re seeking a highly capable SDET to support a major public sector programme, helping deliver secure, high-quality software solutions within a complex Agile environment. This is an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale digital transformation initiatives, contributing to the design and implementation of robust automated testing frameworks using Java and Selenium.
Important: Candidates must hold active Security Clearance. Existing NPPV3 clearance would be highly advantageous.
The Role
As a Security Cleared Software Developer in Test, you will play a key role in ensuring software quality across critical public sector systems and services. Working closely with developers, QA teams, DevOps engineers, and stakeholders, you’ll help drive automation best practices and improve overall testing capability.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks using Java and Selenium
- Building scalable and maintainable automated test suites for web applications and APIs
- Supporting CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into delivery workflows
- Collaborating within Agile delivery teams across the full software development lifecycle
- Contributing to test strategy, quality assurance processes, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Performing integration, regression, and end-to-end testing activities
- Working closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders within a secure public sector environment
- Supporting defect analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause investigation
Essential Skills & Experience
- Active Security Clearance
- Excellent coding skills in Java
- Proven hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver
- Experience building and maintaining automation frameworks from scratch
- Strong understanding of test automation principles and QA best practices
