The company is growing at an incredible pace, and our London hub is at the heart of our international expansion. As our international footprint has scaled to 27 entities through a period of rapid growth, we need a technical expert to bring structure, consistency, and automation to how we account for, report on, and stay compliant across them. Reporting to the Director, International Accounting, this is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys bringing order to a fast-evolving environment and getting hands-on with the judgments that matter most.
You will drive consistent application of our group accounting policy across all international entities — owning the local GAAP interpretations, bridge methodologies, and disclosure standards they follow, and ensuring these align with the policy set by our US technical accounting team. You will also own the international compliance framework that keeps the group's filings and obligations on track.
The impact you will have:
- Build and own the framework for applying group accounting policy across international entities — a clear, documented set of local GAAP positions and US GAAP to local GAAP bridge methodologies that replace entity-by-entity interpretation.
- Own the international statutory compliance framework — maintain the calendar of statutory filing and audit obligations across all international entities and the standard each must meet, monitor status against deadlines, surface at-risk entities early, and elevate compliance exposures to leadership.
- Build scalable, automated processes across the statutory and technical accounting lifecycle — design templated, controls-driven, and automated workflows so compliance and reporting scale across our 27 entities.
- Drive regulatory adherence — keep our international technical and reporting positions aligned with local statutory and regulatory requirements in each jurisdiction, and assess the compliance impact of new and emerging regulations, updating local guidance and briefing teams ahead of adoption.
- Draft the technical accounting position papers that support our statutory filings and audits on complex judgment areas — e.g. revenue recognition, intercompany and cost-plus arrangements, share-based compensation, lease accounting, and the accounting for new entities.
- Provide technical review and sign-off on complex and material judgments and disclosures across the international portfolio, and act as the go-to technical resource across the statutory audit cycle — resolving contentious questions and auditor queries on judgmental matters and helping keep filings on track.
- Play a key role in our NetSuite-to-SAP transition, helping design statutory and technical accounting processes that will scale on the new platform.
- Collaborate extensively across the wider international accounting team, our US accounting team, Tax, HR and Legal — advising on the accounting and statutory implications of intercompany arrangements, funding, structural changes, and new entities.
What we look for:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
- Professionally qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with strong post-qualification experience in technical accounting and/or statutory reporting.
- Strong US GAAP and FRS 102/IFRS technical knowledge is essential.
- Hands-on experience drafting or reviewing technical accounting papers on judgmental areas, and preparing, reviewing, or auditing statutory financial statements.
- Big 4 and/or large multinational group experience, with exposure to complex international statutory audit and technical accounting matters.
- Experience working across a global organisation, collaborating with international teams across different time zones.
- A builder's mindset: happy to create structure where little exists, navigate ambiguity, and improve process in a fast-moving, transforming environment.
- A desire for accuracy and analytics, with the ability to identify risks and drive solutions independently.
- An automation and scalability mindset — you use modern tooling and automation to build leverage and eliminate manual effort, with advanced GSuite/Excel skills and strong working knowledge of accounting systems (NetSuite, SAP, FloQast).
