About the role
We're looking for a DevSecOps Engineer to join our fast‑paced, UK engineering team. In this role, you'll help focus on shifting left and streamline security, building, scaling and maintaining the infrastructure behind our growing suite of applications. You'll work closely with software engineers, product managers and stakeholders to support reliable software delivery through robust CI/CD pipelines, automation, monitoring and modern DevOps practices.
What you'll do:
- Collaborate closely with Engineering departments to improve developer experience
- Build and manage CI/CD pipelines with a focus on shifting left
- Audit, design and implement resilient infrastructure based on best practices with an emphasis on security
- Own the environments from Development through to Production
- Anticipate and recommend solutions to operational problems by monitoring system performance and studying operating targets
- Work closely with the engineering team to manage system lifecycle including change and configuration management
- Troubleshoot any emergency infrastructure incident to achieve optimal application performance and stability
- Drive the continuous improvement of the platform to optimise performance, security and cost of operation
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of DevSecOps practices, tooling and automation across the organisation
What you'll need:
- To be a Team Player – working closely across teams efficiently and effectively
- Experience building AWS based, scalable, and highly available distributed infrastructure
- Experience with Kubernetes, Helm and containerisation
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with security and security audit tooling
- Experience in working with multiple AWS services
- Problem‑solving skills – you’ll identify, analyse and resolve complex technical issues, diagnosing root causes and implementing effective, long‑term solutions
- Scripting ability in Python or Bash
- Monitoring, observability and cost optimisation practices
- Experience with microservice architecture
- Working alongside development teams using agile practices
- Providing production support
- An understanding of Linux systems
- Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform
- Desire to research and develop new DevOps tooling and build proof of concepts
Bonus:
- Have worked with Service Mesh architectures
- Experience with GitOps practices
- Experience with security tooling
