Through Legal Business, our journalistic title, we deliver independent news, analysis and commentary on the business of law and the strategy, performance and leadership of the world’s leading law firms. About the role: Research analysts are at the centre of our interaction with firms and the market, conducting comprehensive research into the legal market to benchmark law firms. The role involves interviewing lawyers and assessing quantitative and qualitative data to produce accurate rankings and insightful editorial content. We are looking for people who have an excellent command of spoken and written English and must be able to manage time effectively and work to deadlines. • Analysing quantitative and qualitative data to accurately assess and benchmark firms by practice area and country
  • Applying rankings methodology consistently and accurately
  • Maintaining live documents of ranking notes documenting decisions made for firms and individual lawyers and the rationale, applying the methodology consistently
  • Writing comprehensive, in-depth analysis of the leading law firms in certain key practice areas
  • Building rapport/relationship with law firms at BD and partner level
  • Owning your own workload in order to meet staggered and final deadlines for interviews, rankings and editorials

What we're looking for:

  • Professional and confident approach to speaking with external senior decision-makers at major law firms
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • An energetic self-starter
