Why This Role?

  • Real strategic weight: this isn’t a role where product strategy gets handed down from above. You’ll shape it alongside the CPO.
  • Broad scope: This role gives you ownership across portals, mobile, API and integrations all at once.
  • A product function that’s investing: we’re building out the team and the discipline, and this role is central to that.
  • Commercial impact that’s visible: the products you own directly drive Modulr’s revenue and customer retention.

Who We Are

Modulr is the payments automation platform that streamlines money movement with accuracy, control and reliability – built to scale. We process more than 200m transactions and over £180bn in payment value on an annualised basis, and we're trusted by over 6,000 businesses from fast-growing SMEs to global enterprises. We automate how money moves into and out of a business – payroll, supplier payments, spend management and payment collection – through a single platform, connected to the accounting and payroll systems finance teams already use and underpinned by principal memberships of Visa and Mastercard and direct access to central bank infrastructure. As a regulated payments provider with over a decade of experience, we're the platform finance teams trust to run mission-critical operations. Modulr is backed by PayPal, FIS, General Atlantic, Blenheim Chalcot, Frog Capital and Highland Europe, with over 400 employees across London, Edinburgh, Amsterdam and Mumbai.

What You’ll Do

  • As Head of Product, you’ll own a broad and commercially significant product portfolio spanning AP automation, expense management, supplier payments, collections, travel payments, web portals, mobile, public API and third‑party integrations.
  • You’ll lead a team of Product Managers and Designers, work directly with the CPO, and have real influence over where the product goes next.
  • Lead and develop your team: You’ll manage, coach and grow a team of Product Managers and Product Designers. Setting clear goals, removing blockers, giving honest feedback and building the kind of team culture where people do their best work.
  • Own the product strategy for your portfolio: Working closely with the CPO and wider product leadership, you’ll shape the strategy and roadmap for your product lines. You’ll take ownership of delivery and be accountable for ongoing product performance, not just shipping.
  • Drive commercial outcomes: Your portfolio directly supports SMB, Corporate and Enterprise customers. You’ll work with commercial, ops, risk and compliance to align product priorities with revenue goals and ensure your products are positioned to win in market.
  • Run a tight delivery operation: You’ll partner with engineering to prioritise effectively and move at pace. End‑to‑end ownership means you’re responsible for go‑live readiness, internal documentation, and making sure every launch is set up to succeed.
  • Manage the ecosystem: You’ll cultivate relationships with channel partners and suppliers across accounting, payroll and travel, finding ways to deepen integrations and expand our product capabilities through those partnerships.
  • Champion data and AI: You’ll embed KPIs across your product lines and lead on AI‑driven product innovation. You’ll bring practical experience of applying AI to product and a clear point of view on where it creates real value.

Your Product Portfolio

  • AP and payroll automation, supplier payments, expense management, collections and specialist travel payment product lines.
  • Web-based portals serving a wide range of users: partners managing large customer books, treasurers, financial controllers, payment ops teams, accountancy practices and small business owners.
  • Mobile app for account and expense management.
  • Public API and developer experience including guides, documentation and sandbox.
  • Third‑party integrations with channel partners across accounting, payroll and travel inventory.

Who You Are

  • An experienced product leader who has run a multi‑product portfolio in a fast‑moving, complex environment and has the track record to show.
  • Technically strong, with good knowledge of API ecosystems, B2B product development and sophisticated UX for non‑consumer audiences.
  • Commercially fluent: you understand pricing, positioning and go‑to‑market, and you’ve worked closely enough with sales and commercial teams to know how product decisions affect revenue.
  • A people leader who takes developing others seriously: you hire well, give real feedback and build high performing teams.
  • Able to hold a 2‑year strategic view while staying close enough to execution that your team doesn’t lose direction.
  • Confident operating in a regulated environment, with Fintech or SaaS experience preferred.
  • A strong communicator and influencer at senior level, across internal stakeholders and external partners and customers.
  • Genuinely curious about AI and how it applies to product, not just as a trend but as something you actively explore and experiment with.
