We are looking for a Frontend Engineer II to join our Accounts team, and our Business team. The company for Business are the business energy champions. Success for OEB comes down to our ability to look after our customers, whilst furthering the transition to Net Zero. To achieve this we must deliver market leading green products, outstanding customer service and competitive pricing. Businesses have a fundamental role to play in grid decarbonisation, which OEB can support them to unlock.

Our local business teams support a diverse range of business customers, from over 110,000 SMEs in the UK to major cities and local authorities in France, and we are rapidly scaling. Growth to date is based on disruption and innovation. Testing and rolling out smart products, customer propositions and initiatives. We have ambitious growth plans for our business teams in all the countries we operate in.

The Accounts team builds the fundamental digital core of the company customer experience. They are responsible for modernising payment structures and facilitating seamless self-serve journeys, including billing, statement management, renewing and amending tariffs and many more. By creating effortless and accessible web experiences, the team ensures our energy specialists are freed up to support the vulnerable customers who need it most, making our industry-leading customer service possible.

What you'll have:

  • 3+ years of experience with our stack, listed below
  • Experience taking problems, rather than strict guidelines, and developing strong solutions
  • Confidence owning the development cycle (request, requirements gathering, technical proposal, technical execution, deployment and monitoring)
  • Confidence tackling large-scale tasks individually
  • An empathetic approach to delegating work and collaborating with others
  • The ability to develop websites that meet strong accessibility guidelines
  • Experience building scalable, performant sites that handle high levels of traffic well
