In response to our fast growth and market expansion, we are looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to join our Merchandising team in [NEEDS INPUT: location]. Merchandising is where retailers decide what to sell, where, and at what price. Those decisions ripple out into less waste, better-stocked shelves, and fairer pricing for millions of shoppers. A Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) is embedded directly in the customer's environment to make that happen: configuring, extending and building on the the company platform against one customer's real operational context. Where our product engineers build one capability for every customer, you work the other way round, one customer and many capabilities, until their supply chain measurably runs better. The role is embedded by design. You'll spend meaningful stretches of an engagement on-site with customers, heaviest around discovery and go-live, so willingness to travel is a condition of the role rather than an occasional extra.
What we need you to do and be:
- Bring your ideas. Challenge ours. Grow with us.
- Own technical delivery end to end, from discovery through go-live: configuration, extensions, integrations, and the quality of everything that ships into the customer's instance.
- Prove the value you deliver by instrumenting deployments, measuring outcomes against the customer's baseline, and presenting the evidence credibly to operational users and executives alike.
- Own the technical customer relationship, learning their operations deeply enough to challenge requirements and become their first call when a new problem appears.
- Feed the product by capturing gaps and use cases from the field and prototyping solutions that can graduate into the the company roadmap.
- Build customer self-sufficiency through knowledge transfer and clean handovers, so they can operate and extend the company without you.
- Grow the account by surfacing adjacent use cases, new sites and unused capabilities, and shaping the technical solution and value case together with pre-sales and the account team.
- Support commercial activity with feasibility assessments, proofs of concept and technical demos, so what gets agreed is technically grounded.
What you’ll bring to the table:
- Proven experience designing and building software across the full stack, in production, not just in dev.
- Strong understanding of system design, observability, and hypothesis-driven development.
- Experience building integrations for downstream or customer-facing systems.
- Solid working knowledge of cloud platforms and modern application stacks.
- Strong business acumen: you can translate technical work into measurable financial impact and communicate it clearly to a non-technical audience.
- Comfortable managing ambiguity and taking full ownership of outcomes.
- Willingness to travel and to work on-site at customer locations for parts of an engagement.
- Comfortable using AI in your everyday work and developing AI tool adoption as an organizational strategy.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
Nice to have:
- Exposure to retail, merchandising, or pricing and promotions.
More important:
- You learn a new domain and a new codebase fast, and you're comfortable being productive before you feel fully up to speed.
What we offer in return:
- You’ll be supported and given the space to thrive.
- We offer meaningful work, flexibility, and a culture that backs you to share your voice and be authentic.
- An international career and learning opportunities.
- A rapidly growing and financially robust software company with exciting opportunities for career growth.
- Flexibility in how and where you work.
- Room to thrive in a fast-growing global company with a good market position.
- Practical benefits that support work, family, wellness, and everyday life.
- Annual leave.
- Diverse, inclusive, and supportive work culture.
- Work that meaningfully reduces waste and improves sustainability.
- Ownership, autonomy and flat hierarchies.
- Two paid volunteering days each year.
We are a global community of different cultures, voices, and experiences. We celebrate what makes us unique and connect through what we share, in an authentic and safe environment. Together we shape the future, and each other.
Please note that to be considered for this position, you must be fluent in English, and hold a valid work permit for the country you reside in / will work in. We’re excited to connect with applicants who meet these criteria and share our passion to do hard things, trust each other, and build what's next for the product, the planet, and the people.
