What will I be doing?

Reporting to the VP Product & Tech Operations, you’ll own the timely, predictable execution of our Product & Technology roadmap, for the company and for our clients, across our global product, field deployment, and platform foundations teams.

You’ll line-manage Heads and Group Delivery Managers, set the standard for how delivery is done across the function, and provide the leadership confidence around what we can deliver, both near-term and further ahead.

You’ll move fluently between board-level narrative and the detail of a single stuck dependency.

The role spans four focus areas

Implementing an AI-native system of wor k - make AI-assisted delivery the default and raise the bar on how delivery is done, partnering with our P&T business operations team to implement best practices across our product development lifecycle (PDLC) that are designed and standardised by the Business Operations team.

  • Grow an independent, high-performing delivery community
  • build a function that solves its own problems, and has a “yes if” attitude to solving the inevitable challenges of the day to day.
  • Partner and Influence at the Executive Level Run delivery at scale

Own and drive successful delivery across the company’s Product and Tech organisation, typically multiple streams that may align to client programmes or global initiatives.

  • Own end-to-end delivery of the Product & Tech roadmap across your area, e. g. across multiple client streams (OVO & ENGIE in Europe, AGL & Shell in APAC) or multiple global product streams.
  • Implement evolutions of a standard methodology that allows the business to scale and ensures successful client implementations
  • Drive absolute roadmap alignment, delivery enablement and reporting at multiple levels, from team detail to executive overview.
  • Bring confidence to what we can deliver, near-term and further ahead through robust capacity planning, milestone tracking (actuals vs estimates), forecasting, and proactive management and resolution of cross-team dependencies.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, UX and Client Delivery leadership so deliverables meet client capabilities, support needs and timelines, and so client feedback flows back into the delivery process.
  • Provide objective, data-led neutral insight on how delivery is really going; proactively escalation risks and issues early, and drive decisions with senior leadership and clients.
  • Embed good practices into our internal delivery management practices that are developed by the Business Operations team, and provide input to shape their future roadmap.
  • Deputise for the VP when needed.
  • Implement an AI-native system of work through delivery

Lead the strategic evolution of our delivery practices by embedding AI-assisted methodologies into default operational workflows

  • Embed AI-assisted delivery into reporting, forecasting, capacity and effort analysis, dependency mapping, risk detection and status communication.
  • Push the boundaries of Jira, JQL and agentic workflows; build dashboards and reporting that drive development forward at pace and replace manual effort.
  • Simplify and standardise practice across Product & Tech: refine ways of working, embed Agile & Lean practice, and raise predictability and the effort-to-value ratio in your area.
  • Act as a change driver, co-own the delivery of a roadmap of improvements to our system of work alongside Business Operations, and bring people with you through the change.
  • Champion continuous improvement and show the function what good, AI-native delivery looks like in practice.

Build a self-sufficient, empowered function that is a gold standard for getting things done, effectively, and with transparency.

  • Lead and develop a group of people leaders and delivery managers, Heads of, Group and Lead) Delivery Managers, setting clear objectives, focus and clarity.
  • Coach the team to navigate complexity and uncertainty, to self-solve, and to bias their effort towards the company’s goals and our client commitments.
  • Know the product and coach the team to understand the product domain for their area so that they can enable cross-functional team delivery of the product roadmap and client delivery goals
  • Mentor and upskill across the community; show the team what good looks like and raise the standard across the board.
  • Clear the barriers that stop Product teams focusing on innovation and strategy, and Engineering teams focusing on technical excellence and execution.
  • Support the Delivery function in achieving its strategy and goals, and champion the wider change and planning agenda.
  • Be an innovative thinker and member of the larger the company SLT team to drive the business forward.
  • Partner and Influence at the Executive Level
  • Act as a trusted partner to Product, Engineering, UX, and Client Delivery leadership, serving as an active member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT)
  • Confidently manage relationships with C-level clients.
  • Deliver objective tracking, milestone visibility + forecasting, and proactive risk mitigation strategies to leadership, while serving as a strategic deputy for the VP of Product & Tech Operations when required

  • Experienced leading delivery management at scale: line-managing and developing people leaders, across cross-functional Product & Engineering teams using agile methodologies.
  • Able to design and evolve delivery operating models, governance and ways of working, with an openness to follow current the company practice and refine where needed.
  • A trusted partner: to Product & Engineering leadership, able to influence senior leadership, and credible with C-level clients.
  • A strong listener, people leader *and* coach: able to empower teams and colleagues to reach their full potential, and to bring people along on a change journey.
  • Fluent with Jira, or similar roadmapping tools, with real curiosity about using JQL and AI to generate dashboards and reporting that drive development at pace.
  • Comfortable switching between team-level detail and executive-level overview, applying the right approach in the right context.
